EXPERIENCE:

Jim McVay has recently rejoined the firm of Watkins Calcara, Chtd.  He returns from a tenure in Washington, D.C., serving in the United State Office of Special Counsel as an investigator and prosecutor.  Before he left, Mr. McVay was a seasoned litigator in the areas of workers' compensation and general insurance defense.  He defended several of the largest writers of insurance in the United States.  Many times claims managers invited him to speak on several issues regarding the litigation of general defense and workers' compensation.

Mr. McVay left this firm in February, 2004 for a temporary position in the United States Office of Special Counsel.  He handled several cases under the Federal Whistleblower Protection Act, the Federal Hatch Act and the Uniformed Services Employments and Re-employment Rights Act.  Mr. McVay had great success at the U.S. Office of Special Counsel and was promoted to the position of Deputy Special Counsel in July, 2005.

Mr. McVay is currently handling matters of general insurance defense.  He is confident he can bring his vast area of experience, in and out of government, to better serve the clients of Watkins Calcara, Chtd.

Recipient of Presidential Service Badge under President Carter; Joint Service Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Award, Retired First Sergeant USMCR.
